About Us
A student-led legal research body committed to advancing policy discourse at the intersection of law and society.
The University
National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi, was established in 2010 by Act No. 4 of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. One of India's premier national law universities, NUSRL is committed to advancing legal education, research, and innovation. Located in Ranchi, it offers an intellectually rigorous academic environment with programmes spanning B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., and PhD. Through its emphasis on interdisciplinary legal studies, NUSRL prepares graduates to meet the evolving demands of the legal profession in a global context — producing skilled, ethical, and socially responsible professionals.
The Centre
The Centre for Policies, Laws and Agenda, NUSRL (CPLAN) is a student-driven initiative under the aegis of National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL), Ranchi. Established with a vision to bridge the gap between policy formulation and legal academia, CPLAN is dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research, legal reform, and public discourse around contemporary legal, social, and policy challenges.
Our Mission
Our mission is to nurture a generation of policy-conscious legal professionals through research, dialogue, and action. CPLAN seeks to create a collaborative space where law meets policy, theory meets practice, and students engage with real-world challenges. We strive to be at the forefront of legal and policy innovation by promoting:
Critical legal and policy research
Evidence-based policy advocacy
Workshops, lectures, and public forums
Publication of research papers, blogs, and position papers
Student-driven campaigns and civic outreach
What We Do
Research & Publication
In-depth research papers, policy briefs, and articles on constitutional law, environmental law, human rights, public policy, governance, and development.
Workshops & Seminars
Regular events with legal professionals, bureaucrats, academicians, and policy-makers — fostering learning, discussion, and hands-on experience in law and policy.

"CPLAN isn't just a student body — it's a vision for socially responsible legal practice."
